How To Register

 

Register Now for Lavaman Waikoloa!

Those that register for Lavaman Keauhou prior to May 15, 2012 will still have a slot reserved for them until July 1, 2102 in the 2103 Lavaman Waikoloa Race.

Refund Policy

A 75% refund will be granted for cancellations made prior to March 1, 2012.  

No refunds will be granted after that date.

Registrations are non transferable to another person.

Age Requirement

The minimal age to race in the Lavaman Waikoloa is 14 years old.

Relays

EACH MEMBER OF THE RELAY TEAM MUST REGISTER SEPARATELY ON ACTIVE.COM. Relays may be two or three member teams (see fees above). You may put together your own teams or if you need help we will assist in finding team members for you. Contact us at registration.

Lavaman Triathlon is a USAT (USA Triathlon)  sanctioned triathlon, Racers must be a USAT member or purchase a one-day USAT license To learn more about USAT membership see the USAT website.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet Pick-ups times:

Hilton Waikoloa VIllage- Grand Promenade

Friday is 11AM to 4:30PM 

Saturday: 
Team in Training 11-1PM
1PM to 4:30PM


No one will be permitted to pick up their packets after 5:00pm on the Saturday before the race.

When you go to pick up your race packet, be prepared to:

  1. Bring current USA Triathlon card or fill out the USA Triathlon One-Day membership form. A One-Day fee of $10.00 will be collected for non-members at registration if not prepaid.
  2. Bring a photo ID. No ID = No race.
  3. Waivers must signed by all registered athletes for USA Triathlon and for Waikoloa Beach Resort.
  4. Athletes must pick their packets up on Saturday before 5pm or they will not be allowed to race on Sunday.

Pre-Race Conduct

Please Read!

Please abide by the following.

    • The bike turn-around tunnel is on private land - It is open for biking, race day only!

    • No riding bike through the HiltonWaikoloa hotel.

    • No running on the  Waikoloa Beach Resort golf courses.

    • PLEASE NO CHALK MESSAGES ANYWHERE ON RACE COURSE!

Race Morning

  • 5:30 a.m. — Bike Impound Opens – Rack Bikes, get numbered & Pick up Timing Chip, Anaehoomalu Parking Lot.
  • 7 a.m. — Road to Anaeho’omalu Bay closes to vehicle traffic.
  • Personally rack your own bike in your numbered bike rack with your back wheel in the rack. Make sure you have bar end plugs.
  • All Bike and run gear should be placed on left side (as if you will seated on bike) of front wheel or on the handlebars. No tubs of water or large back backs or bike pumps. There will be plenty of bike pumps available in the transition area on Race Day.   There will also be tech support available in the transition area on Race Day morning.
  • Rack Bikes, get numbered & Pick up your Timing Chip before proceeding to the beach area.
  • No riding in transition. There will be a mount/dismount line and you will receive a 2-minute time penalty for mounting before the mount line or dismounting after the dismount line.
  • No glass in Transition.
  • No friends or family in transition.
  • Don’t forget to pick-up your timing chip.
  • If you need help ask a transition volunteer.
  • There will be tech support available in Transition on Race Day & there will be 3 tech vans on the course providing neutral help.
  • Can family members and/or friends check-in for me and pick-up my race packet?
  • No, only registered athletes are allowed into athlete check-in. Please bring your photo ID and USAT card (if applicable) during designated check-in hours.

Cut Off Times

Cut off times for the Lavaman Waikoloa.

  • Swim Cut-Off is 8:45 AM (that is 1:15 minutes from start of last wave)
  • Bike Cut-Off is 11:00 AM
  • Run Cut-Off is 12:45 PM

(Please note cut-off times may be adjusted outward due to race conditions & relative start times at the discretion of the Race Director & Head Referee)
