Aloha & welcome to our new Lavaman Triathlon Triathlon Website….. 28 September 2020
With this new website we can update our athletes, sponsors, volunteers & fans to the plans and changes that we are making to assure the success of the Lavaman while keeping the health & safety of all involved as a top priority for our 2021 race. Changes are being made based on the recommendations of USA Triathlon, the CDC, and local and state government agencies..
We are determined to incorporate these changes in such a way that they do not impact the quality of the Lavaman and that it remains one of the races that many competitors put at the top of their list. We are working closely with our Presenting Sponsors, The Hilton Waikoloa Beach Hotel, Waikoloa Beach Resort, Lava Lava Beach Club, Kona Brewing Company and Events.com to assure this.
We know we may have a smaller race in 2021 if the threat of COVID persists in order to provide the space for social distancing. Knowing this is a possibility, we are opening registration first for only those athletes that were registered for the 2020 Race and are rolling their slot over to 2021. They will have 30 days in which to register before we open up general registrations. General registration is expected to open on November 10. We will maintain a wait list and work down that list once the 30 days are up. Those that have already inquired have already been added to the waitlist. If you have not yet inquired, you may add your name to the waitlist by e-mailing email@example.com
Athletes registered in 2020 will be receiving an email with an update and a survey that must be filled out in order to receive an invitation from Events.com to register. Athletes from 2020 may choose to register for 2021 or 2022 using their 80% discount or a Virtual Race and Virtual Training at no charge for those that cannot race in 2021 or 2022. More information on the Virtual alternatives will be forthcoming within the next two weeks. If no survey is returned 70% of their entry fee will be donated to the LavaKids fund and distributed to youth groups impacted by COVID19.
If you were registered for the 2020 Race and do not receive an email with the Survey by October 1, please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org so your e-mail address can be updated and one sent to you.
We have certainly missed all of you this past year and whatever your interest, we sincerely hope to see you back at a future Lavaman. In the meantime, keep safe and stay healthy and we will all get through this and hopefully celebrate together in 2021. Please watch and enjoy some of the videos and photos from the past year’s races and keep on checking our website as we add more updates and content.
Aloha & Mahalo,
